Alumni Spotlight VOL. III

MARIETTA, GA – This past weekend, College Lacrosse officially started. Our next Alumni Spotlight features Thunder LB3 Alums: Chad Toliver (Rutgers), Ryan Gallagher (Rutgers), Ben Clark (Bucknell), Eric Overbay (Villanova), Pierce Johnson (Hampton) & Carson Sorrells (Furman).


Ryan Gallagher (Class of 2017, Attack, Marist)

Gallagher made his first collegiate debut against Robert Morris and already made an impact by scoring his first career tally for the Scarlet Knights at their home open opener. Rutgers will be back home to face St. Johns on February 10.


Ben Clark (Class of 2017, Goalie, Cambridge)

Clark took over in net after the Marist Red Foxes’ seventh goal, when Bucknell was down 7 to 3. He was impressive in his collegiate debut, making four saves and forcing a critical turnover with 1:24 remaining in regulation to help the Bisons defend its two-goal edge. Bucknell will go on the road to face Bryant on February 10.


Eric Overbay (Class of 2017, Midfield, Lambert)

Overbay made his collegiate debut for the Wildcats and netted his first career goal. Villanova defeated No.12 Penn State in comeback overtime thriller (17-16). The Wildcats next game will travel to Frisco, Texas to face Yale on February 17.


Pierce Johnson (Class of 2017, Midfield, McCallie)

Johnson had an impressive collegiate debut for the Hampton Pirates netting a hat-trick in their season opener. The Pirates are now off until February 23 when they face the University of District of Columbia.


Carson Sorrells (Class of 2017, Attack, Allatoona)

Sorrels made his collegiate debut against University of Vermont. The Paladins got a goal from him on an assist to cut the lead to 3-2 to end the first. Furman is back in action on February 10, heading to Chapel Hill, N.C., to take on North Carolina.



Chad Toliver (Class of 2015, Midfield, Milton)

Last year Toliver played in 13 games (10 starts) with nine goals and three assists for 12 points, along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Scarlet Knights. Now entering his Senior season at Rutgers, he scored a goal in the 11-7 win against Robert Morris.
