WASHINGTON – On Monday, April 16 Thunder LB3 Alum Lucas Wittenberg (2015) was named the BIG EAST Midfield Player of the Week. He helped led the Hoyas to a 1-1 week against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents, including a road victory at No. 13/13 Villanova.
Georgetown (8-4, 2-2 BIG EAST) dropped a tough 11-8 decision to No. 9/10 Loyola Maryland in a rescheduled midweek matchup before taking down the No. 13/13 Wildcats on the road in BIG EAST action. With the win over Villanova, the Hoyas put themselves in the driver’s seat to securing a berth in the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since 2015.
Wittenberg earns his first BIG EAST weekly honor after posting three goals and five assists on the week. He tallied a goal and two assists in the loss to Loyola before posting two goals and three assists against Villanova in the upset.
Georgetown returns to action this Saturday hosting NJIT in their final home game.
